Land of the Rednecks

This past weekend Rebecca and Nic didn't get to come up because Shelly had chicken pox. She had her shot, she is just one in the less than 1% who got it anyway. It was a very mild case. Just little pink, raised spots that turned a brownish color and faded. They were almost all gone by the time she went home. But the dr said it was chicken pox. So I guess it was. I can't wait for Nic and Rebecca to come up. I miss them so much. Nic even talks to me on the phone now. Something he refused to do a while back. Billy and Shelly and Hannah got to go to church. They don't usually get to go because I don't keep all 5 at one time now. Shelly had picked Billy out a shirt and tie to wear. He was so proud to be dressed up like he sees his daddy sometimes:

And here you can really tell he loves his sister:

Doug is really losing alot of weight. He probably won't appreciate it, but here he is in shorts that fit him last month:

Now for the good part. Being from the south and all, I must say I'm proud to be a redneck. Tonight I fixed a gourmet dinner of Banquet Salisbury Steak, Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, and Great Value Turnip Greens. All with a side of Sara Lee bread. I thought it would be nice if Doug and I had a candle light dinner. We had never had one before. So I put out the good china and set the table, complete with candle:

(In case you didn't notice, the candle is a rare #4 candle. Since this was a special occasion for us, I used only the best.)

Guess I'd better go for now. It's almost dark outside and I need to light the lanterns so I'll have something to read by. Y'all come back and read some more, y'hear?

About Me

I am now an RN. I love taking pictures, especially of my grandchildren. I love taking care of people and wish there was more time to do it. Management puts so much paperwork and picky stuff on us we really don't have time to do the job we are destined to do.
